WELCOME

he Fairfield Area Historical Society  was created to help preserve and protect Fairfield's historical heritage. The Historical Society intends to identify and acquire artifacts and information of historical significance to the Fairfield area.

HERITAGE  ADAMS  COUNTY
Adams County is updating the Heritage Component of the County Comprehensive Plan.  Click HERE to check out the project's website for more information and to take a brief survey.

Black  Americans in the Fairfield Area in the 1700 and 1800's
Presentation by Debra  McCauslin

The Fairfield Area Historical Society is pleased to welcome Debra McCauslin, a well-known local historian!  Debra will provide information about African Americans during the 1700 and 1800's in the Fairfield and surrounding areas.  This presentation will inlcude information about the U.S. Colored Troops, living veterans, occupations of free and enslaved negros of that era.
