UPCOMING EVENTS
Fairfield is Burning
The Story of Two Fires That Define Fairfield's History
October 27, 2022 | 7:00pm | Village Hall

Two fires, 45 years apart, threatened the existence of our town, it's economic health, and left such an indelible mark on our memories such that many can still say exactly where they were that Sunday afternoon "when the shoe factory burnt." The South Side Fire of 1908 and the 1953 destruction of the Fairfield Shoe Factory are events that tested our town's resolve, pointed to inadequacies in our infrastructure, and brought us together as a community.

FAHS Board member, Kevin Bream, will be the speaker for the evening with a time included for first-hand recollections and memories by those who were on the scene at the 1953 fire. The public is invited free of charge and lite refreshments will be served.
